Long COVID / post-vac syndrome
Chronic symptoms after COVID or vaccination?
Long COVID and post-vaccine syndrome are conditions that can occur after a COVID-19 infection or a COVID vaccination. Long COVID refers to the long-term effects of COVID-19 infections, while post-vaccine syndrome refers to similar symptoms after a COVID vaccination. Both conditions can cause a wide range of symptoms that may last weeks, months or years after infection or vaccination.
Symptoms of Long COVID and post-vaccine syndrome can differ widely and vary from person to person.
The most common symptoms include:
- Tiredness and exhaustion
- Shortness of breath
- Muscle pain and joint pain
- Headache
- Memory problems and difficulty concentrating
- Sleep disturbance
- Cardiovascular symptoms
- PEM: post-exertional malaise
- POTS: postural orthostatic tachycardia syndrome
- Neurological symptoms such as numbness, tingling or dizziness
- Psychological symptoms such as anxiety, depression or mood swings
It is important to note that not everyone with Long COVID or post-vaccine syndrome has all symptoms, and that symptoms can differ in each person.
Many patients with Long COVID and post-vaccine syndrome have now visited our practice. These two entities often follow a similar course. We have identified specific laboratory values such as receptor autoantibodies (GPCR-AAK), RANTES, VEGF, BHI, and others, and offer individual treatment schemes that have already helped many people.
What treatment options are there for Long COVID and post-vaccine syndrome?
Treatment of Long COVID and post-vaccine syndrome is usually limited to waiting and pacing. That is not enough for us. We have a broad range of functional treatment methods from which we select suitable approaches for you. Treatment is individual, depending on symptoms and condition. A blood-purification procedure is often useful.
