Risk check
What the risk check does
Do I have congenital or acquired risk factors for cardiovascular disease? We investigate this question and assess all relevant risk parameters, including the latest findings from medical research. We also give you individual guidance on how to improve your personal risk and which everyday factors (lifestyle) you should pay particular attention to.
When assessment is useful
The check is suitable if high blood pressure, raised cholesterol, diabetes, overweight, inactivity, premature heart attack or stroke in the family are known. Unexplained chest tightness, reduced performance or questions about sports fitness can also be a reason.
Parameters that typically contribute
- Blood pressure at rest and, if needed, over 24 hours
- Blood lipids, blood glucose and further laboratory values after the history
- Smoking status, activity, diet and family history
- ECG and, depending on findings, ultrasound of the heart or vessels
Results consultation
You receive a clear account of your personal risk and which factors can be influenced. There is no blanket prognosis. Medication, lifestyle changes or further tests are suggested only if they fit your findings.
